What do you want to bet Nick Cannon’s kicking himself right now? Mariah Carey just announced she’s headed to Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas for a big residency.

“I’m going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars. This is a special event for me,” Mariah said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I’m gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album #1’s, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them. Hopefully other people will enjoy this. I’ve never done this before.”

Even though Mariah said it’s a “new chapter,” the show will feature many of her old hits, including We Belong Together, Visions of Love, Emotions, Fantasy, Dream Lover, One Sweet Day, Don’t Forget About Us and Touch My Body.

Mariah has more than a few reasons to be excited about the Vegas show: According to TMZ, Mariah will make an “enormous” amount of money. They add, “To put it in perspective Britney is raking in $475K a show… it’s unfathomable Mariah accepted less.”

The start date for Mariah’s show hasn’t been announced, but it will likely run through 2015 or into early 2016 — depending on when Celine Dion returns. (Cue mental image of Celine saying “this town ain’t big enough for the both of us.”)
