Forbes releases list of top-earning celebs under 30

Calvin-Harris

Forbes magazine has released another list of people way richer than you and this time around it’s the top-earning celebs under 30. The list doesn’t include sports stars to keep it more “Hollywood-focused.”

Even though she had to cut a tour short thanks to hip surgery for a labral tear, Lady Gaga was the top of the tops bringing in an estimated $80 million between June 2012 and June 2013. Here’s the list in full:

1. Lady Gaga: $80 million

2. Justin Bieber: $58 million

3. Taylor Swift: $55 million

4. Calvin Harris: $46 million

5. Rihanna: $43 million

6. Katy Perry: $39 million

7. Adele: $25 million

8. Jennifer Lawrence: $26 million

9. Kristen Stewart: $22 million

10. Taylor Lautner: $22 million

The one name that seems to stick out and be the least familiar is Calvin Harris. Via Forbes:

Calvin Harris makes his debut on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 after a stellar year. Discovered on Myspace eight years ago as a singer-songwriter, Harris has morphed into a world-renowned DJ and producer. In February, he signed on to play more than 70 shows over a two-year period in Las Vegas. While the majority of his money comes from performing, he also earns from writing and producing songs like Rihanna’s Grammy-winning “We Found Love.” Harris played more than 150 shows in the 12 months since June 1, 2012.

It’s also noteworthy that 7 of the top 10 are musicians (and 7 of the top ten are females). While all the talk recently has been about the demise of the music industry in general, the artists on this list are their own singing and performing brands. Their persona in general is marketable and extends way beyond the realm of the music that put them on the map.
