On this season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians viewers have seen a lot more of Bruce Jenner’s sons, Brandon and Brody. The boys have certainly added some interesting new plot lines — specifically the one revolving around Brody and Bruce’s strained relationship.
On the most recent episode, as the Jenner-Kardashian crew took off for a family vacation in Greece, Brody felt he was being intentionally left out by Kris.
“Although things have gotten off to a very awkward start with Brody, I want Bruce to explain to Brody that I didn’t leave him out of the family vacation to Greece,” Kris said. “Instead of owning up to what’s going on in his life with Brody, he somehow shifts all of this blame on me. So, ultimately, I get painted up to be the bad guy.”
Eventually, that booking crisis was solved and Brody joined on the trip… But the incident really illustrated how touchy things are between Kris and her step-son of 22 years.
Even once they were in Greece, Brody and Brandon couldn’t help but comment on the unusual nature of their father’s relationship.
“There’s an imbalance within the house,” Brandon said of the Jenners’ home in Los Angeles.
“That sounds like a relationship I don’t want to be in,” Brody added. “It’s hard to hear he’s not respected as much as he should be.”
As it is clearly a touchy subject, Kris later tried to defend her role to Bruce: “I’m not the evil step-monster you think I am. I just want a little bit of credit.”
Although everything will likely get cleanly wrapped up for the sake of TV, one of Brody’s friends claims the situation between step-mom and step-son has not improved. In fact, the insider claims Brody wishes his father would file for divorce.
“Bruce and Kris are leading separate lives and don’t even share a bedroom together anymore. He has been spending a lot of time at his Malibu rental without Kris,” the source revealed to Radar Online. “Brody wants to be closer to his dad, but it’s very hard with Kris in the picture, because she always has to make everything about her.”
