Mariah Carey was rushed to the hospital after dislocating her shoulder during a shoot for her latest music video. According to reports, Mariah’s signature high heels (a new kind of wardrobe malfunction) caused her to trip and fall while filming the video for her “Beautiful” remix featuring Miguel and Young Jeezy in New York City on Sunday night.

“Mariah was injured while filming a video for the remix of #Beautiful, directed by her husband Nick Cannon,” Mariah’s spokesperson Cindi Berger told Page Six. “She was taken to hospital late last night, where doctors reset her shoulder. She is fine and is recovering at home.”

The former American Idol judge was taken to New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery on the Upper East Side for the procedure but an ambulance was not called. Mariah, 40, always has medical staff on hand just in case something like this were to happen and they are the ones who tended to her immediately after the incident occurred and later transferred her to the hospital.

This weekend, Mariah is scheduled to perform at a free concert held in NYC’s Central Park to benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief. Despite her injury, sources claim that the show must go on.

“She will perform, but it is likely she will have her arm in a sling.”

Neither Mariah or her director husband Nick have commented on the incident.
