Amanda Bynes has an eating disorder

Amanda Bynes is struggling with an eating disorder, announces it on Twitter.

Amanda Bynes has been dealing with more legal issues than week can keep track of, but yesterday things became even more bleak for the troubled star. After celebrating her 27th birthday, Amanda took to Twitter where she revealed that she is struggling with an eating disorder.

“I have an eating disorder so I have a hard time staying thin,” Amanda tweeted yesterday. Amanda didn’t reveal which eating disorder she’s suffering from but if it’s keeping her from losing weight, it could be bulimia. She could also have anorexia, since long-term starvation can cause metabolism to slow down. She could also suffer from binge eating, which is recognized as an eating disorder.

Lately, the usually stylish Amanda has been seen in some out-of-character outfits and on her birthday — a time when you’d think she be at her best — she was wearing a big fur-lined jacket with baggy black sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt, and Adidas sandals with no socks. A few days prior to her birthday outing, Amanda wore a nearly identical outfit — but with socks.

In an odd move, Amanda actually claimed on Twitter that the red-headed person strolling around New York City and being photographed by the paparazzi wasn’t her. “My hair is blonde, I’ve never been a redhead!” she wrote. “Somebody keeps posing as me! Check my photos on Twitter for up to date pictures!” The tweet was later deleted after many noticed that she was wearing the same jewelry as she was sporting in a recent Twitter photo.

Back in February, Amanda told fans that she had actually lost 4 pounds since moving to NYC and was currently weighing in at 121 pounds. Then, she shocked fans when she added that her goal weight was just 100 pounds.

In other Amanda news, she was a no-show in court on Tuesday for her pre-trial hearing regarding two misdemeanor charges for driving without a license. Her attorney Richard Hutton was there and requested a continuance, which was granted.

Amanda is due back in court on May 9.
