2013 was the year of “Hathahate,” and actress Anne Hathaway felt it. Everything culminated with her Oscar win for Les Mis in early 2013, when the ire for her raised to a fever pitch, and she decided to give everyone a break from her.

Now the 31-year-old coming back into the cultural landscape with Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and an upcoming film with Robert DeNiro, and she’s a bit reflective about the craziness of 2012-3. “This fame thing? F–ked me up for a really long time,” she told British Elle. “I didn’t know how to do it; I didn’t know how to engage with it; it stressed me out. And people would say, ‘You just have to be yourself,’ and I was like, ‘But I don’t know who that is yet!'”

She was also recently married to director Adam Shulman, and says she’s just now settling into the relationship. “The first year of my marriage was insane,” she said. “So much happened so fast, and we didn’t get to focus on just being married until about a year in. So now, it’s just about letting myself feel safe.”

Maybe this Tai Chi with Robert DeNiro is helping her find a bit more peace with fame and marriage.
