The phrase “devil may care” appears to have been laying in wait for Miley Cyrus all this time, as the pop star fairly embodies a reckless attitude.
This week, she strode across the concert stage in Santiago, Chile, riding an inflatable penis the size of a raft. And really enjoying it, from the looks of the photos she posted to Instagram.
The new prop threatens to overshadow–literally!–the oversized prosthetic rear end Cyrus has been wearing onstage during her recent run of Latin and South American shows, which fans have since dubbed “Rump Romp 2014.” (Don’t Google that.)
And yet, perhaps the most puzzling turn of events came on Wednesday, when Cyrus shared a since-deleted Instagram photo of she and Katy Perry’s infamous kiss. Though “kiss” is perhaps a prudish description:
The purpose of the post? #WCW, or “Woman Crush Wednesday,” which doesn’t threaten to become a real thing anytime soon. Miley’s caption for the photo?

Which reads a little bit like Soviet code. And may or may not have been semi-subtle retribution for the interview Perry gave after the two kissed in the first place–the one where she said “God knows where that tongue has been.”
You’d have to call Cyrus’ behavior increasingly erratic, if these weren’t the kinds of things she does all the time. For her “erratic” would be wearing a monocle and sipping brandy from a snifter while discussing geopolitical conflict and the rise of ISIS.
What do you make of her? Are these just the actions of a wildly successful young adult? Are they the ravings of a madwoman?
