Amanda Bynes’ mom, Lynn Bynes, granted legal control over daughter
As we reported earlier, Amanda Bynes had her psychiatric hold extended for another 30 days after a judge visited the facility she’s been at since July. In addition, it’s now being reported that her mom, Lynn Bynes, has been awarded temporary conservatorship over Amanda.
Amanda’s lawyers told the judge that the troubled actress is opposed to the conservatorship, believing it is not necessary.
This ruling not only gives her mom say over her well-being, but also control over managing Amanda’s finances. The judge did caution Amanda’s parents to not make any significant financial decisions without consulting with Amanda’s lawyers first.
This temporary conservatorship will last until September 30. The judge wishes to have some one-on-one time with Amanda so he can make a thorough evaluation. It’s possible that after Sept. 30, the order could become permanent.
