Adrienne Maloof and Dr. Paul Nassif issue statements about divorce settlement
The split between The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof and husband Dr. Paul Nassif has been a nasty one, playing out in the media with all sorts of allegations that included verbal abuse, choking, child abuse, and even an alleged staged gun photo! Now the couple has finally reached a divorce settlement that includes a custody agreement for their three children, and both sides took to Twitter to comment on it.
Adrienne Maloof’s statement was brief enough to fit in a single tweet:
Happy to have settled & looking forward to a positive future and co-parenting our 3 beautiful boys. Thanks to my fans for your support! xoA
Dr. Paul Nassif’s statement (which appears to be from both he and Adrienne) was a bit longer and was tweeted by him in the form of a photo. Here is what it said:
I could not be happier for both of us. We are very excited to be moving forward with our lives. Thank you all for your support. Here is the complete statement from our rep Jim Yeager:
“We’re happy to announce we have reached agreement on a settlement that we are both very pleased with. Divorce is a painful process under any circumstance and certainly more painful under the constant glare of the media spotlight. There has been so much untrue negative innuendo and destructive rumors beyond our control the past few months. We want the best for each other and we’re confident we can help each other make a continuing positive impact with our children. We’re happy to be moving forward with our lives in a positive way not only individually but as co-parents. Our goal is for our children to have stable and nurturing relationships with both of us so we can all find as much happiness as possible. We appreciate the good wishes we continue to receive from our supporters around the world.”
I’m glad to hear that Adrienne and Paul were able to finally put their issues behind them and move on, and at least judging from the language of the statement above, they seem to be taking the right approach by focussing on the well-being of their children. That being said, I’d like to take a moment of silence for the passing of one of my favorite reality TV couples. Though the split casts a new light on their constant bickering, it will continue to bring a smile to my face any time I see the two of them getting under each other’s skin during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reruns.
If Apollo and Phaedra split, I’m quitting Bravo!
