A miracle in three screencaps
It’s often been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. It’s an old adage that stands the test of time, but in this particular case we’ll show you how 3 screencaps can convey one miracle!
You’ve already seen screencap #1, and it’s of an 18-wheeler that was making its way down Biscayne Boulevard in Miami Wednesday evening. The truck’s cargo, heavy-duty engines, is barely visible in the image because unbeknownst to the driver they had too much girth to make it underneath the I-395 overpass. When the freight struck the overpass, two of the engines were caused to slide off of the rig.
This leads us to screencap #2:
That is what’s left of a Honda Accord after one of the massive engines fell directly onto the driver’s side of the vehicle smashing it as if it were merely a small children’s toy. This caused the vehicle to crash into another automobile that was in front of it. People in downtown Miami told Local 10 that the impact of the engines colliding with the overpass and this car sounded, “like a bomb went off.”
At the time the roadway was said to have been extraordinarily busy, as fans of Taylor Swift were making their way to her scheduled concert at the nearby American Airlines Arena.
And this takes us to the miracle part and screencap #3:
That is the driver of the crushed Honda Accord walking, and literally laughing out loud, at the scene of the accident as local news shot footage. Seriously, that’s her – smiling and no worse for the wear!
Officer Kenia Reyes told ABCNews, “I don’t know how it happened. She miraculously survived.” The police later stated that the driver, who remains unidentified, emerged unscathed by moving quickly into the passenger’s seat as the engine fell. The driver of the big-rig as well as the driver of the car that was rear-ended by the Accord suffered no injuries either.
Now I know some folks don’t believe in miracles so you could call it an extremely improbable series of events, but either way, it’s pretty darn amazing!
