How much is Alana Thompson’s family making for Here Comes Honey Boo Boo?

TLC has a smash hit on their hands with the down home show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. The exploits of Honey Boo Boo, Mamma June, Sugar Bear, Chubbs, Chickadee, Pumpkin and Glitzy have caught hold and TLC is capitalizing by filming additional episodes.

Anderson Cooper will be featuring the family on his 2nd season premiere episode alongside Beyoncé. The beautimous family from McIntyre, GA has inspired our own Redneckipedia and they’ve been highlighted in just about every major publication for TV and pop culture.

Last week’s episode garnered 2.992 million views and beat out any cable network’s coverage of the Republican National Convention. It was the top rated show on cable for the coveted viewership range of 18-45. In addition, it was also a big in-season jump promising that the ceiling could be very high for this series.

So how much is the family raking in from all of this success? Not much at all according to The Hollywood Reporter (from my experience a very reliable source).

The family of six (plus Glitzy the pig) are making somewhere between $2,000 and $4,000 an episode. That means a max of around $40,000 for the initial 10 episode premiere season plus a possible small “location fee” for filming at their house. In relative terms that ain’t much at all.

Update: TMZ got June on the horn and she laughed at this amount with the site saying she indicated they made a great deal more. No range of earnings was provided.

I hope June has a good rep or negotiator for a 2nd season because on scale they should be making way more than that y’all. TLC told THR that they don’t comment on salaries. They do sell ringtones through the official website however. 😉

I’d love to make $40,000 to be a white trash person just living out my life. Hell that’s more than I make now and I’m an airline pilot. People need to stop watching this trash and get these people OFF THE AIR NOW!

That is a lot of money for doing NOTHING!

  • Kathy

I know someone who was filmed with them and that person said they make $5000 per episode.

  • Paula

I don’t care what anybody says about them – I love this crazy, loud, disgusting family! lol Their show is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. I laugh the whole time!

Any amount is too much. TLC has gone down the crapper.

This show’s high ratings are proof people are sick of seeing plastic anorexic barbie-housewives & rich spoiled brats on television. Cheers to real people not afraid to be who they are–faults, farts, & all.

  • I love this show but if they start making LOTS of money then they wont be who they are now. They will become to hollywood and “set up”, not reality. But for now this show cracks me up and is refreshing to see REAL people and not these fake too tanned up snobs who are already rich and dont need more money.

White trash, criminal, nasty family! I guess if they can be nasty and stupid and get their own tv show then I or anyone can get one! How about the REAL struggles of a young mother? Not some set up teen mom bullshit..

I love Alana AKA Honey Boo Boo Chile she has more personality and is friendlier and more engaging than many adults and teens I come across in my everyday walk of life. I love her genuineness and her Moxie spirit Go Honey Boo Boo Go!
