PHOTOS, VIDEO – Justin Bieber signs Carly Rae Jepsen to his record label Schoolboy Records

How can you not love Justin Bieber? When he’s not spending Valentine’s day with critically ill fans, he’s helping other girls fulfill their dreams by signing them to his record label. At least he did that with up-and-coming Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepson. Justin made the announcement Feburary 14 that he and manager Scooter Braun were siging Carly to their label Schoolboy Records.

How did Carly get The Biebs revved up enough to give her this amazing opportunity?

She didn’t exactly come from nowhere, the 26-year-old singer placed third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol. Her Canada roots probably pull Bieber’s heartstrings a little, because he’s also a native Canadian. They also have another similarity. Her single “Call Me Maybe” (below) was the first song by a Canadian to top the digital charts since Bieber’s “Baby.”

What do you think? Did Bieber and his team make a good decision by staking a claim with Carly Rae Jepsen?
