30-year-old YouTuber Gabbie Hanna has called it quits with Payton Saxon, her boyfriend of 2 years. She announced the split as part of her new series STORYTIME: Confessions of a WashedUp YouTube HasBeen (Preface).
Payton has always been a more private person than Gabbie, who has made a huge presence on the Internet with her storytimes videos and exhibitionist behavior. This past April he deactivated both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, and now it seems this difference in opinion about living life online has led to the split.
“I’m single now,” Gabbie reveals in her YouTube video. “Honestly, it is a good thing. It was a very clean and loving breakup. He’s still in the series, with his permission of course, and I love the memories we had together.”
“When we met two years ago, we were just very different people than the people we are now,” she explains. “We had very different visions. There comes a point in every relationship where you have to look at the full picture and decide, ‘Are we going to be good partners moving forward for the rest of our lives?’ ”
Gabbie has had a chaotic year, to say the least. Last year she was sure that YouTube had shadowbanned her after her music video for her single “Special” failed to obtain more than a few hundred thousand views in the first few days. It now has 2.2 million views.
She has been in a feud with Trisha Paytas for several years now and recently posted receipts on her channel to prove that they have been friends at one point. Trisha denies that they were ever close.
Gabbie is also currently embroiled in a more serious issue: fellow social media influencer Jessi Smiles recently released some audio of a phone call between herself and Gabbie where they address the fact that Gabbie continued to associate with Jessi’s rapist Curtis Lepore. Gabbie revealed in the call that she had spoken to him more times than Jessi had previously known, but the two women could not come to an agreement about their perspectives of the situation. Public opinion on the matter has overwhelmingly sided with Jessi.
