VIDEO Woman holding baby gets in insane brawl at Chuck E. Cheese’s

Chuck-E.-Cheese's-Brawl

We all know a kid can be a kid at Chuck E. Cheese’s but thanks to some rowdy folks gathered at a Long Island location we’ve also learned it’s a place where adults can lose their freaking minds.

On Saturday evening in Comack, New York, adults got into a scrape following a birthday party and the brawl was, of course, caught on cell phone video. The following clip shows one woman who managed to land some haymakers while holding a baby on her hip, while a kid tries to hold back another adult unsuccessfully.

It also looks like an employee is holding a young baby when a woman returns, grabs the child and throws a punch before leaving again.

UPDATE: The video was taken down so here’s another upload:

A representative for the popular chain said of the unfortunate event:

“The store manager and employees acted quickly, followed proper safety procedures and contained the incident until local on-duty officers arrived. We want to assure parents and caregivers that we take great measures to protect the experience children and families have in our stores…. Despite our efforts, unfortunately altercations occur with a very small percentage of those who visit Chuck E. Cheese’s. And like kids’ soccer and baseball games across our country, typically the incidents are not with the kids—but regrettably the parents.  For us, even one altercation is too many. Maintaining a wholesome, safe experience that sets a standard across our more than 560 locations is of utmost importance to Chuck E. Cheese’s, and we will never stop working to improve how we operate our business.”

ABC7 followed up on the story, getting the account of what two of the women involved claimed to have happened. Melanie Hommedieu said it all started when she tried to help a little boy she thought was lost. “So I just gently said, ‘I’m not your mommy honey’ and I looked to see who his mommy was and I was approached with ‘[A series of expletives] get your hands off my son.'”

Lisa Lord, a woman who was trying to be restrained by her daughter, claims that her purse was taken during the scuffle and she was just trying to get it back. A rep with the Suffolk County Police confirmed with Yahoo Shine that a purse was stolen. Lord claims that her iPhone and money were gone. Both women felt that the restaurant was ill-equipped to handle the situation.

According to ABC7 there is an ongoing investigation into what happened.
