Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans lead his purple Mercedes on a really fast break down Interstate 80 over Memorial Day weekend and the California Highway Patrol just released aerial footage of his fast and furious joyride!
Here is an edited version with a news report by The Sacramento Bee:
The 20-year-old NBA Rookie of the Year was driving a purple Mercedes and appeared to be racing another vehicle when police pulled him over and handcuffed him at gunpoint. He reportedly reached speeds of 130 miles an hour while swerving through traffic and driving on the shoulder.
Evans pleaded no contest to reckless driving resulting in his license being suspended for 30 days, 3 years of probation, mandatory attendance at team driving programs and 80 hours of community service.
He later apologized to his fans via Twitter by saying “Apologies to fans, the Kings and my fam for bad decision making. Driving is a privilege & speeding was a mistake. I’ve def learned my lesson.”
Oddly, Tyreke was pulled over just a few yards away from two basketball courts, one of which looked to have a pick-up game in progress!
