VIDEO Real Housewives of Orange County on new cast member Lydia McLaughlin
They never said it was easy being the new girl! Especially when it comes to joining a group like this…
On this week’s episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, we are going to be introduced for the first time to new cast member Lydia McLaughlin. In the video below, the RHOC ladies, who don’t exactly have a welcoming reputation (Vicki Gunvalson just likes her “people” as she has said a million times) discuss their new cast mate. As usual, they didn’t hold anything back…
Some of the highlights:
Vicki: “The first impression I had meeting Lydia was: are you 15? Did you get your period yet?”
Alexis: “Lydia and I share the same faith and we have the same bedazzled Bible.”
Tamra: “Lydia on the outside just looks like this sweet little angelic girl that just couldn’t hurt a fly… but when you get to know Lydia, she has a spark, and if I were you, I’d be very careful not to light it.”
So what do we know about Lydia? She’s the youngest housewife on the show, she’s gorgeous, and she is extremely wealthy. No wonder the ladies have so much to say!
Okay, so there’s a little more to it. (Check out our original profile post on Lydia here.) Lydia the granddaughter of Canadian media mogul Geoff Stirling who founded NTV, the first 24-hour television station in Canada. She’s married and has two young children with her husband, Doug. She also lives in Dana Point, aka Alexis’ hood. Lydia is the editor of Beverly Hills Lifestyle magazine, and knows Lisa Vanderpump through that. In her spare time, she runs a puppy jewelry line, an art gallery in Laguna Beach, and a web design and marketing company.
One more thing: she doesn’t seem to get along with Slade Smiley. In one interview, she said, “Oh, I have an opinion on Slade … we don’t really care for each other. He is very opinionated, but he doesn’t like to be accountable for it. I’m a sweet, nice person, but I’m also very direct. I’ll go straight up to you and communicate. So, we had some adult conversations.”
And as we previously reported, Lydia said that she thought Gretchen was “cold” when she met her. Ouch!
Sounds like Lydia brings plenty of drama to the table!
