VIDEO PHOTOS Rashad Bobino was man in Austin street fight with Roger Huerta
Roger Huerta made headlines last week when a video of him beating the crap out of a huge man who had just viciously punched a woman in the back of the head on the streets of Austin made its way to TMZ.
The Austin Police Department has been hush hush about the identity of the other man involved in the beat down but SportsByBrooks.com claims the man is a former linebacker for the Texas Longhorns and Atlanta Falcons named Rashad Bobino. From the site:
“I’ve learned from multiple sources who threw the punch.Former starting Univ. of Texas Linebacker Rashad Bobino, who last played for the Longhorns in 2008, was the individual who punched the unidentified woman from behind as seen in the TMZ.com video.”
Here’s an animated gif allegedly showing Rashad Bobino hitting the woman from behind:
There have reportedly been no arrests in the incident so what happens from here will depend a lot on whether or not the woman in the video comes forward and/or cooperates with police. Since yet another famous name has been attached to the incident I’m sure Austin police are going to be very careful moving forward.
Rashad Bobino was a three-time All-Big 12 selection while playing for Texas from 2005-2008. He was signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL in May of 2009 but didn’t stick around very long. He is reportedly currently playing for the 9×9 Adult Contact Flag Football League (ATXFL) team called Xtreme.
Here is a 2008 video of Rashad Bobino’s fraternity at University of Texas (Omega Psi Phi) engaged in something called Probate. The video is tagged with Rashad Bobino’s name and when one of the men in camouflage and chains removes his hood towards the end of the clip it does look a lot like Bobino (right around the 6:14 mark). Here’s some background info on Rashad Bobino from TexasSports.com.

If you don’t know Roger Huerta’s amazing story of childhood abuse and eventual redemption, be sure to check it out HERE. You might not agree with the extreme manner in which he dealt with Bobino’s assault on the woman in the video, but you will at least have a better understanding of his motives.
