Miley Cyrus opens up about Liam Hemsworth split
Barbara Walters has chosen Miley Cyrus as one of her “10 Most Fascinating People of 2013.” Love, hate or whatevs about Miss Twerk, the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana was certainly one of the 4-5 celebs who ruled the “internet” this calendar year (Barb’s list includes the others – see below).
ABC has released a teaser of the upcoming special to air Wednesday night at 9:30 EST in which Miley opens up about her split from actor Liam Hemsworth. From the brief clip Miley tells Barbara:
• I was so scared of ever being alone, and I think, conquering that fear, this year, was actually bigger than any other transition that I had, this entire year.
• I don’t ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like, without them, you can’t be yourself.
• I don’t think I realized what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn’t change being engaged. It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years, but now, I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence, when I’m just at my house, by myself.
When Miley was asked if she ever wanted to be married she answered, “I think I’ll want that in the times that it needs to be.” Also, when Walters quoted the lyric from her song “Drive” in which she pines, “I was crazy, thinking you were mine. It was all just a lie,” Miley hesitantly added, “I don’t think there was any, any lies.”
Other entries selected by Walters are; Jennifer Lawrence, Edward Snowden, Robin Roberts, Prince George of Cambridge, The Robertson Family of Duck Dynasty, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Diana Nyad and Pope Francis.
