VIDEO Lady Gaga hit in the head with a pole, gets concussion during New Zealand concert
Apparently concussions aren’t just a problem for professional football players, they’re also an issue for pop singers with elaborate stage productions! Lady Gaga found that out the hard way during her Born This Way Ball concert in Auckland, New Zealand on Sunday as one of her dancers accidentally hit her head with a pole during her performance of “Judas.”
Here’s a video in which the “pole dancing” mishap is clearly visible right at the 18 second mark:
OUCH!!!
Lady Gaga, being the consummate showwoman that she is, continued on for 16 more songs with the injury, telling the crowd at one point, “I want to apologize. I did hit my head and I think I may have a concussion but don’t you worry I will finish this show.”
Lady Gaga’s makeup artist Tara Savelo later confirmed the diagnosis via Twitter:
Gaga has a concussion but she is going to be okay. She wants u to know she loves u. I’m taking care of her.cant believe she finished the show
Just in case you were wondering what the routine was supposed to look like, here’s a video of Lady Gaga performing “Judas” in Aukland the night before:
