During the first weekend of July British actor Jude Law was in the Czech Republic receiving the President’s Award from the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival .  While getting his Czech on, Mr. Law decided he would head out for a few drinks and a little karaoke.  Thankfully for all of us, the good folks over in the CR have portable video recording devices and a keen since of what makes for great YouTube viewing.

Here is Jude rocking through a sing-a-long version of Chuck Berry’s classic “Johnny B Goode.”  Hey Jude, don’t look so sad because one day you’ll sing it better.

Not bad actually, but I do feel it is necessary to provide some proper perspective on this performance just in case our foreign friends aren’t familiar with the original and the master that performed it.  Here is the incomprable Chuck Berry backed by some guy named Springsteen and his band on “Johnny B. Goode” from The Concert for the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame:

Jude, you’ve just been Chuck buried!  While Britain and the U.S.A. may have had a 1-1 draw in the recently completed World Cup, in the global “Johnny B Goode” battle it looks like a decisive 1-0 victory for America.
