VIDEO Creed’s Scott Stapp says he’s penniless, living out of truck
Creed frontman Scott Stapp has posted a Facebook video in which he claims that he’s been under a vicious attack that has left him “completely penniless.”
Stapp starts off by saying that reports of his death are (obviously) a hoax and that he’s sober despite recent rumors to the contrary. “I’m as sober as can be. Once the rumors starting coming out, I began getting blood and urine tests once a week just in case someone called me on the carpet on it, I could prove it.”
The father of 3 adds that he became aware of people out to get him when he launched an audit of his personal finances and his record company:
“Over the course of that audit, a lot of things were uncovered. A lot of money was stolen from me or royalties not paid and that’s when all hell began to break loose. This is a vicious attack because some people that we know and at the record company and outside of that have stolen quite a bit of money, and money can make people do many bad things and when they’re afraid of getting caught or exposed they can be ruthless in how they want to protect themselves for the crimes they’ve committed.
All of a sudden the IRS has frozen my bank accounts two or three times to leave me completely penniless. I don’t even understand that and why this is all happening at the same time. When I called to find out why they said, ‘Oh, we had an address mix up. It was a clerical error. So we’ll return your funds in nine to ten months.’ I don’t understand how that’s fair in America.”

The singer from one of the late 90’s/early 2000’s most commercially successful bands (Creed has sold over 40 million albums worldwide) stated that he’s been staying at a Holiday Inn but admitted that he’s had stretches where he’s had to live out of his truck.
Stapp added, “I’m not playing victim and I’m not asking you to feel sorry. I’m just telling you the truth about what’s going on with my life.”
