VIDEO 1st Fear the Walking Dead spin-off trailer released by AMC
Tonight was the Season 5 finale of AMC’s smash hit The Walking Dead and the network used the occasion to release the very first video teaser for the show’s spin-off companion series based in Los Angeles titled Fear the Walking Dead.
Here’s the clip:
“Morning Los Angeles, I hope you got your flu shot,” a radio DJ innocently announces. Then, with an added sense of seriousness: “Reports in five states say a strange virus is going around. So if you’re not feeling well, go home and take care of yourself.”
Fear the Walking Dead will have a six-episode first season and will star Cliff Curtis as teacher Sean Cabrera and Sons of Anarchy‘s Kim Dickens as Nancy, a guidance counselor and romantic interest for Sean. Nancy’s son will be played by (former?) drug addict Frank Dillane and her conversely quite together daughter Ashley will be played by Alycia Debnam Carey.
Kim Dickens will once again be working with Sons of Anarchy writer Dave Erickson, who co-wrote the pilot episode with The Walking Dead comic book creator Robert Kirkman. Erickson and Kirkman will executive produce along with The Walking Dead vets Gale Anne Hurd, Dave Alpert and Greg Nicotero. The Fear the Walking Dead pilot is directed by Adam Davidson.
Fear the Walking Dead has already been renewed for a second season.
I agree with pretty much everybody that the title is pretty lame, but I’m super excited to see what this fantastic crew can do with another cast! I do wish AMC and Frank Darabont could have mended the fence, though, at least for the first six episodes.
