Vicki Gunvalson calls timing for new season of Real Housewives of Orange County announcement ‘terrible’

RHOC New Season

The new season of Real Housewives of Orange County is coming to Bravo next month — with plenty of drama, crazy allegations and even a new housewife.

“Original housewife Vicki Gunvalson returns along with Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador who are joined by the sexy and opinionated new housewife Meghan King Edmonds. Friend of the housewives, Lizzie Rovsek, also finds herself mixed into the drama as the ladies test the limits of loyalty, the depth of deceit and the bonds of friendship like never before,” Bravo said in a press release. “This season, the truth threatens to tear everyone apart, as one of the wives celebrates the miracle of life and another is stricken by tragedy.”

One of the wildest storylines — again — seems to be that between Vicki Gunvalson and boyfriend Brooks Ayers, who revealed in October that he’s battling Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The crazy part is that not everyone believes Brooks’ story.

“If he is lying to her about having cancer…” Tamra said during a lunch with Vicki’s daughter, Briana.

Briana jumped in to say, “I’ll kill myself.” (Yikes!)

After the preview aired on Sunday night, Vicki took to Twitter to call the allegations against Brooks “nothing short of disgusting.” Still, her biggest gripe seemed to be about another subject: At the end of the clip cameras showed as Vicki got the devastating news of her mother’s sudden passing.

As Vicki explained in February, mom Joanne Steinmetz died in her sleep at the age of 83. Vicki added she learned the news by receiving “a phone call that is every person’s worst nightmare.” To now see it replayed on TV must be heartbreaking…

Despite the controversy with Brooks and the “terrible” timing of the preview, Vicki seemed to have an overall positive attitude about the new episodes, saying on Instagram that it promises to be another “great season.”

Real Housewives of Orange County premieres on Bravo on Monday, June 8 at 9/8c.
