Tori Spelling reveals she slept with Jason Priestly, voted to fire Shannen Doherty
Tori Spelling dated Brian Austin Green, so it was no surprise that he was one of the two Beverly Hills, 90210 cast members she revealed she slept with on her Lifetime Celebrity Lie Detector special. She admitted to getting a special birthday kiss from Luke Perry on her 18th birthday, but said she had a summer fling with Jason Priestly.
“It was our version of, like, a summer romance, the 90210 version and that was it,” she said. “You know, we stayed great friends for the rest of the run, and beyond that, but yeah, we had that one summer fling.”
Tori also explained the day Shannen was let go. Shannen had been battling rumors of being a “problem” on set, and was reportedly showing up late quite a bit. Tori was friends with Shannen, but admitted she felt her pal was being unprofessional. The day Shannen was fired, Tori said she (Shannen) made the cast wait almost the whole day and then sat down for hair like it was nothing. A pissed Ian Zeiring reportedly called her a C * * T, explaining it meant Can’t Understand Normal Thinking. While Shannen was getting ready, the rest of the cast went in a room and unanimously voted to have her fired. They called Tori’s dad, and each person made their vote. Tori said when it was her turn, she said, “You know my vote, but I won’t say it,” and walked out. She never saw Shannen again.
Tori revealed another tidbit about her costar. Tori saved the dress she lost her virginity in, and Shannen happened to be searching through her closet to find an outfit for a cast photoshoot. She grabbed the dress, and didn’t care when Tori told her the significance of it and pointed out a blood stain. Shannon ended up wearing the black floral dress for the most iconic photos of the show.
Tori only failed two questions. She was apparently a bit deceptive when she said she liked the Lifetime Movie The Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Story that also aired tonight. When she got caught, she said that she expected more drama, and revealed that there were more love stories on set than were explored in the movie.
The other question she failed was about Jason Priestly’s claims in his book that she sold his wedding invitation at a yard sale. Tori stood by her answer, saying the yard sale in question was filmed for a reality show and the footage didn’t show her selling the memento.
She says she swears she doesn’t remember, but she apologizes to Jason if she did it. “I would never do that. It was a small wedding. I think the world of his wife, and him, and I am terribly mortified and embarrassed if that ever happened. And, if it did, it was literally as a joke. I wouldn’t try to make money off of his wedding invitation. There are other ways to do that, like tonight!”
