TEEN MOM Matt Baier’s book cover, title and Amazon pre-order link
On Monday night’s episode of Teen Mom OG, Amber Portwood’s fiance Matt Baier revealed that he plans to write a book with the assistance of blogger Matt Richards, and now we have more information about it, including a title, a release date, and even a link to pre-order it on Amazon!
The book is titled You Have No F**king Idea: The Naked Truth About My Life and is scheduled to be released May 2, 2017. Currently, the pre-order price on Amazon is $10.28 for the paperback first edition, but that price may fluctuate before the book’s release. (If you go ahead and pre-order now, Amazon will honor their lowest price between now and its release.)
As you can tell from the photo above, the book cover features a nude photo of Matt in which he is covering his much used baby maker with a black leather jacket.
Here is the blurb from the publisher Post Hill Press, which is the same publisher used by other Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 authors like Kailyn Lowry, Maci Bookout, and Amber Portwood:
Deadbeat Dad. Con Artist. Liar. Manipulator. If you believe the tabloid press about Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood’s fiancé Matt Baier, your opinions of him are most likely wrapped in scandalous rumors and gossip.
Forget everything you think you know about the tattooed, gravel-voiced reality TV star. In You Have No F**king Idea, Matt breaks his silence for the first time and sets the story straight by delving into his past, present and future—fully exposing the naked truth about his life—once and for all.
As far as what Matt will address specifically, he spoke with co-author (and one of his biggest champions) Matt Richards about what readers can expect. “Nothing is off the table,” Matt (Baier) says. “I will be confronting all of the BS you’ve read about me in the past few years. I will also be sharing background details of my life, my struggles with addiction, and the true story of how I met Amber, which has also been twisted and lied about in the press.”
“I look forward to sharing my story once and for all,” Matt adds, “and hopefully showing you all that you really have no idea who I am. I’m truly not the guy I’ve been painted to be and can’t wait to share my story with you.”
Publishing is actually nothing new for Matt, as You Have No F**king Idea: The Naked Truth About My Life will actually be his second book (that we know of). He previously wrote a novel titled Guys Don’t Rat on Guys under the pseudonym Grey Baker. The book is about a man who suffered traumatic sexual and emotional abuse as a child who is trying to work through all of those things twenty years later. Matt said at the time that the novel was his way of working through his own issues because he was a victim of childhood sexual and emotional abuse. (It was at this time that Matt was building his relationship with abuse victim advocate Judy Cornett.)
Here’s the book cover and the description of Guys Don’t Rat on Guys from the Amazon listing:
Kevin Hurley has a unique–some would call cynical-view of the world and the people in it. His childhood was something he survived, rather than celebrated, so it is no mystery why he is hesitant to return to his childhood haunts. After nearly twenty years of keeping skeletons in their closet his visit drums up memories and the people who made them. Kevin’s encounters with the people in his past prove puzzling until a rush of memory decides who, what and why Kevin is who he is. The mind of a child is a playground–simple and sincere; for Kevin, it is a dangerous place where trust and loyalty died young, and if he is to have a future he must make peace with all the horror that came before. Dramatic in all the right ways, Guys Don’t Rat On Guys is a compassionate and searing novel of one man journey to reconcile his past in order to embrace the future.
I confess that I am curious to read the new book to see how Matt’s version of his past is different from the stories shared publicly by the women he had relationships and/or children with. Let’s be honest, Matt has made it very difficult for any viewer of Teen Mom OG to believe him just from the number of lies he has admitted telling Amber since they met! And not just little fibs, but lies about how many kids he has, his age, his sobriety, etc.
Matt seems to walk a very fine line where he constantly admits to making lots of mistakes in his past, yet continues to insist the things being said about him are not true. “The media” is essentially saying that he was (is) a romantic con man who got a number of women pregnant and then took off. (And let’s not forget that nothing the media has said about him comes anywhere close to the vitriolic and hateful things Matt himself tweeted about Teen Mom 2 stars Jenelle Evans and Kailyn Lowry, as well as the men they were dating!) Yes, I’m eager to hear Matt explain what really happened and “fully [expose] the naked truth about his life—once and for all.”
