Street Outlaws: New Orleans racer Kye Kelley is defending himself against claims that he is a racist after he “deleted a few people out of [his] circle” that weren’t white. Kye points out in a recent Facebook post: “My best friend is a black guy” but that doesn’t matter because “it’s 2017 and some people still act like a certain race owes them something!!!”
Here is Kye’s full statement:
Ok for all the people taking sides, that’s fine with me, all I did was delete a few people out of my circle that bummed, mooched, or stole from me. People who always have their hand out, people that don’t work and expect others to support them, just so happens those people aren’t white people so now them and several others are teaming up against me because let’s face it, it’s 2017 and some people still act like a certain race owes them something!!! My circle is small and it’s getting smaller!! My best friend is a black guy that works his ass off and I respect him 1000%, we race together, we ride together, we fish together, we eat thanksgiving and Xmas dinner together, we are brothers and that’s a fact!!, but for the people that mooch and steal, peace out, I don’t give a f**k what color u are, there’s no room in my circle for u especially when u support something that directly affects me! Stay outta my pit!
So who is Kye throwing under the bus here? He later reveals he is referencing two guys named Smoke and Rickey Toney. Rickey took to the comments section of Kye’s post to defend himself, and suggests that the whole beef is over the fact that he made a Facebook post showing respect for Kye’s rivals Memphis Street Outlaws, which seems to jibe with Kye saying “there’s no room in my circle for u especially when u support something that directly affects me!”
