For the first time, one of Sister Wives star Kody Brown’s children has chosen to enter into a marriage with multiple wives, albeit with a bit of a twist!
Kody and first wife Meri Brown’s only child, daughter Mariah Brown, is now engaged to her girlfriend fiancée Audrey Kriss after proposing during the Women’s March in Washington, DC on January 16. Mariah and Audrey made the engagement reveal with photos of Mariah’s proposal posted to Instagram earlier today:
Audrey captioned the picture above by writing “Yes.” She added the diamond ring emoji and thanked photographer Claire Bruce for capturing the emotional moment.
Mariah posted a photo taken just after her proposal in which both brides-to-be look overcome with joy:
“Forever sounds just about right to me,” Mariah wrote, also adding a diamond ring emoji.
Mariah spoke with People about the magical moment, which didn’t go off perfectly. “We were in the middle of where everyone was marching and I was trying to get the ring out of my pocket, where it was stuck,” Mariah recalls. “I think Audrey was fixing her hair, but I just got down on one knee and said some sweet things that neither of us can really remember because we were so caught up in the moment,” she adds.
After proposing, there was apparently a bit of suspense before Mariah got her answer. “She was really sweet and started crying and I was crying and then I put the ring on her, got up and gave her a kiss and someone around us goes ‘Did she say yes?”’And she totally hadn’t yet!” Mariah says. “Then she said ‘I do! I do!’ and then realized that was the wrong thing to say and then said ‘Yes!’ She’s such a sweetheart.”
Mariah reveals that the Women’s March was especially significant for the couple. “We had just started dating when we came for the first time two years ago and it was such a special time for us that I wanted to propose there.”
Mariah’s family members have already started expressing their congratulations on social media. “I’m so dang excited!” Janelle Brown commented on Mariah’s Instagram post. “When you fall in love with your kid’s significant other – this is the best possible outcome!”

Robyn Brown shared a photo of Mariah and Audrey on Instagram and wrote: “Our daughter @mariahbrwn is engaged to her true love @audreykriss! I am so excited for them. What a sweet couple! #sisterwives #truelove #theyaresocutetogether.”

Mariah has not revealed any specific wedding plans or provided any sort of time frame for how soon she and Audrey will be walking down the aisle.
