Pia Toscano gets record deal one day after stunning American Idol elimination
Pia Toscano’s tearful reaction to her shocking elimination from America Idol Thursday night may have been short-lived because she was reportedly approached that night about signing a record deal with Interscope Records – a deal that is close to being finalized!
From UsMagazine.com:
“Pia is being signed to a deal with Interscope Records who are rushing her into the studio to record an album ASAP,” a source familiar with the contract talks tells Us. “Starting [Thursday] night after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her and first thing [Friday] morning Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it.”
Perhaps the egregious travesty of getting voted off so early was the best thing for Pia. She’s going to have a number one album before the Season 10 finale of American Idol even airs! Sadly, she has already committed to participating in the Idols LIVE! concert tour this summer, so she will have to carry that dead weight for a while yet. (Can you tell I’m still bitter?)
Congratulations to Pia Toscano, who is said to be “so excited” over the deal with Interscope, which is headed up by American Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine. And as far as her elimination, perhaps it was the record deal offer that helped her be so humble in her remarks in a Friday conference during which she said, “You don’t know for sure why things happen, but you know, it did!” She continued, “It was my time to go on the show and I’m excited to see what my future holds.”
So are we, Pia! So are we!
