“Love Sex Magic” singer Ciara got served papers on stage Saturday night after a Los Angeles club sued her for an alleged no-show on Friday night.
West Hollywood’s “The Factory” claims that Ciara signed a $10,000 deal to perform at the venue but backed out at the last minute because of her obligations to perform at the 2013 L.A. Pride event. They added that it was mentioned she could not “perform” but that her people indicated it wouldn’t be a big deal for her to make an “appearance.”
Ciara’s rep said:
“Ciara’s commitment to perform at L.A. Gay Pride on Saturday night prevented her from making such a Friday night appearance. Despite being notified early last week that Ciara could not appear, the Factory continued to market and promote Ciara’s appearance. The reason for the continued marketing/promotion is unclear, as it is not known why the Factory would intend to continue to mislead the public, to cause damage to the L.A. Gay Pride festival and to attempt to portray Ciara in a negative light.”
The Factory has maintained their argument and followed through by having the singer served while in the middle of her performance at L.A. Pride. Here’s the clip as the process server makes her way right up to the stage and hands Ciara dem papers as she’s belting out a tune.
Ciara seemed unphased as she simply tossed the docs back down. The processor stacked them up, put them back on stage and told the person who caught the footage seen above that, “She got served.”
It looked like that server-girl really seemed to love her job and it also seems like The Factory was hunting for some publicity.
