PHOTOS Katy Perry and new boyfriend Robert Ackroyd of Florence and the Machine getting intimate at Coachella

Last week it was rapper Tupac Shakur rising from the ashes for a headline-grabbing holographic performance at Coachella, and this weekend it was Katy Perry rising from the ashes of her relationship with Russell Brand to find romance with Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd! (Yeah, that was a bit of a stretch, I know.)

The couple were seen gettin’ intimate all over the festival grounds as they hugged it out and held hands, and there definitely appeared to be fireworks as Katy lived out the lyrics to her revamped song “I Kissed A Guy.”

So does this mean the new, “darker” Katy Perry will be going away? In case you missed it, the singer was famously quoted a couple weeks ago as saying, ““My music is about to get real f***ing dark. You’d never see my face because my hair would be in it.” She also stated, in reference to her failed marriage with Brand, ““I’d like to use a time machine and go back to a specific date, please.” Hmmmmm… Could it be that Katy is a bit confused in her heartbreak and began dating Robert Ackroyd because he has access to Florence and the Time Machine?

All joking aside, I’m happy for Katy. Although, I was kind of excited to see where this “darker” thing was going to go, not to mention being a little excited to see what a “single” Katy Perry show would be like!

Alas… I suppose we will just have to stomach these kinda cute “in a relationship” photos of a “not f***ing dark” Katy for now. Here are some more, as well as a picture of Robert Ackroyd closing out Coachella with Florence + the Machine:
