I typically do Duggar Digest posts on Tuesdays, but felt like two separate posts were warranted for the announcement about the sex of Jill and Derick Dillard’s baby and for Jessa Duggar’s wedding shower.
I’ve got to say, I feel a bit sorry for Jessa. Whereas Jill got a lot of publicity during her engagement and for her wedding, Jessa’s engagement announcement (on Aug. 15) was quickly overshadowed by Jill’s baby announcement (on Aug. 20). I’ll feel really bad for her if she has to live in a building on her family’s property after the wedding while Jill got the Stony Brook mini-mansion.
Anyway, Jessa and Ben got their moment in the sun last weekend at a Pinterest-perfect wedding shower. (Click the picture to see the details.)
Jessa and Ben’s shower was held at a hall that was transformed with chocolate-colored tablecloths, fall flowers and rustic details. Other decorations included a cute photo collage of the couple, hand-painted signs, a “MR. & MRS.” banner and a table set up with all sorts of cake plates… I assume dessert was actually displayed on the stands at some point.
The couple was also photographed this weekend for the Humans of Arkansas Facebook page. They spoke about what they’ve learned and how they’ve grown throughout their 13-month relationship.
“You really have to make sure that you are walking with God, so you can encourage and build up the other person and draw them closer to God,” Ben said. “Because you don’t want to be dragging them down and discouraging them. You want to be encouraging them and lifting them up.”
Jessa added, “The biggest thing I have learned from this relationship is learning to communicate well and learning how to talk to one another and work out differences, even in the small things.”
They will wed in Arkansas on Nov. 1.
