In what is both a PR move and an act of fatherhood, Slade Smiley went shopping with his 9-year-old son Grayson Arroyo-Smiley, who suffers from an inoperable brain tumor. Earlier this year Slade was arrested for failing to pay almost $80,000 in child support for Grayson. A few months ago Smiley’s ex, Michelle Arroyo, claimed that it wasn’t just a money issue, he had not sent Grayson a birthday card, and had only seen him twice in the past few years.
Well, Gretchen may not have much control of herself when she’s “naked wasted,” but when she’s sober she can work PR better than a Tiger Mistress can work a VIP Vegas/New York party. I’m guessing that she might have even payed off Slade debt, suggested that they go shopping with Grayson, and invited the paparazzi along. Cynical speculation? Yes, but even so I’m sure Gretchen was really nice to Grayson and he was probably thrilled to spend some time with his dad. To quote Larry David’s character is mediocre Woody Allen film, “Whatever works.”
