PHOTOS Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s humble new home
Yesterday evening at the Golden Globes the movie about the formation of the world’s foremost social networking site Facebook, “The Social Network,” went off winning multiple awards including the top prize “Best Motion Picture – Drama” setting the film up for a possible huge Oscar night. The man for whom the film focuses its attention, Mark Zuckerberg, has remained a very private person despite being worth several billion dollars at the tender young age of 24.
Zuckerberg has come out of his shell a little bit lately having made huge splashes in the field of philanthropy promising massive amounts of his personal wealth to various charities. In keeping with his low profile he has made a move into a house that would seem far below that of the dude who makes Facebook bank.
When he first moved out of his rented home months ago many assumed he would be going all Tiger Woods and making a move onto his own island and mansion etc… but that just isn’t Mark’s style or M.O. Instead, he has moved just seven blocks from his former home in the College Terrace neighborhood of Palo Alto in California.
Now don’t get me wrong it’s a nice enough house that Zuckerberg is renting in a very nice neighborhood. I probably couldn’t afford the rent but then again I don’t RUN FACEBOOK! It is this type of mystery and indifference to what usually drives young men to power that makes Zuckerberg such an interesting subject. “The Social Network” is adored by fans and critics for a reason and in large part this is due to the enigmatic person at the center of a modern day American success story.
Here’s a gallery of additional photos of the new digs for the man that created the website that you’re about to leave this blog post for and check to see if there have been any comments on your latest status update. You know I’m right!
I especially love the portable basketball goal that looks like one a friend would have had in their back yard growing up.
