PHOTO Daughters stage mom’s corpse with menthols and Busch beer
Even in death, Miriam “Mae Mae” Burbank from New Orleans kept with her city of New Orleans’ mantra – laissez les bons temps rouler “let the good times roll.”
Miriam’s two daughters told WGNO that their mother, who passed away at the age of 53, was full of life and they wanted her funeral to reflect the way they remembered her. So like a scene from Best Funeral Ever, Burbank was set up at a table for her viewing with some of her comforts including a can of Busch beer, a pack of menthols and miniature helmet odes to her beloved hometown Saints.
Her fingernails were also adorned in black and gold and the table included a crossword puzzles book while overhead there was a disco ball.
