Oklahoman breaks record by selling 18,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies
Holy Samoas!
Katie Francis is a 6th grader from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and she’s exceptional at selling Girl Scout Cookies. She’s so good in fact, that she’s broken the national record by selling over 18,000 boxes of the delicious treats.
Katie’s mom confirmed to The Oklahoman that Katie had passed her record breaking goal of 18,000 boxes and that as of Sunday night she had totaled 18,107 sold. The previous mark was held by Elizabeth Brinton, who sold 18,000 boxes back in the 1980s.
The 12-year-old isn’t done yet and has now set her sights on the unthinkable feat of 20,000 boxes of Thin Mints and the like. The sales period was extended for a week because of winter weather – so Katie has until March 30 to get ‘er done.
Last month Katie told the paper that there were 3 main attributes to being able to sell throngs of them there yummy Tagalongs: a lot of time, a lot of commitment and asking everyone she met to buy.
Miss Francis also said that she will even sing and dance to attract a customer’s attention.
Props to Katie – and now I’m hungry y’all…
