VIDEO Ohio State football coach body slams streaker during game
Anthony Schlegel is the strength and conditioning coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team.
He’s also a former linebacker for the team, who ended his playing career in 2005.
For now, though, Schlegel is an internet sensation for what he did on the field to a disruptive fan Saturday night:
Former Ohio State coach Earle Bruce, who was in the press box at the time, said Schlegel was “the best tackler [the Buckeyes] had ever had.”
It’s not clear how 21-year-old Anthony Wunder made his way onto the field during the game, or what exactly he intended to do, other than look foolish, once he got there.
Maybe he was hoping to get caught by a regular security guard, and not a clearly irritated Schlegel.
Wunder, a six-foot-two, 180-pound Cincinnati native, is due in Franklin County court this morning on charges of criminal trespassing.
At least one big-name celebrity familiar with rough-and-tumble sports went out of his way to give Schlegel props:
Props to OSU strength coach Anthony Schlegel. That tackle was worth 5 Buckeye helmet stickers and the game ball.
