MTV’s Catfish renewed for fourth season, plus details on Nev Schulman’s book, In Real Life
Already experiencing Catfish withdrawals following this week’s third season finale? Well, you’ve still got to wait a while for new episodes, but the good news is that Catfish: The TV Show is officially returning to MTV for a fourth season!
MTV executives announced the (not surprising) decision during the Television Critics Association summer tour today. They didn’t specify when the show will return.
It is believed that both Nev Schulman and Max Joseph will again co-host, even though they have other big projects in the works: Max wasn’t able to make the live after-show on Wednesday because he is currently directing his first feature film about a young DJ. And Nev’s first book, “IN REAL LIFE: Love, Lies & Identity in the Digital Age,” is due for publication on September 2.
According to the publisher, the book offers “an essential roadmap to better connect their digital personas with their true selves.” Nev — who they refer to as “the Dr. Drew of online relationships for millenials” — specifically addresses what motivates catfish, why people fall for catfish, how to avoid deception, how to connect authentically over the Internet and Nev’s personal rules for dating.
