Melissa Gorga is the latest Real Housewives star to land an advice-style memoir, and she’s going to expose some of her painful past with her father.
On the teaser for next Sunday night’s episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Melissa is seen going through old photos and talking about her book with husband Joe. “Your dad was a big part of your life,” Joe says. “You should write about him.” Melissa responds “I don’t know that I want to say ‘My father was a man that cheats.'”
“It was really hard as a little girl understanding where your dad was going, and why he went out for milk and didn’t come home for a couple of days,” Melissa remembers. He died when she was 17, she told the JewishJournal.com, which doesn’t explicitly quote her.
Melissa now sees her husband Joe Gorga’s father Giacinto Gorga as her father.
Her book, Love Italian Style: The Secrets of my Hot and Happy Marriage, comes out September 2013.
