Meb Keflezighi Boston Marathon 2014

Boston … and America … strong!

California man Meb Keflezighi won the 2014 Boston Marathon today with a time of 2:08:37. Meb edged out Kenyan Wilson Chebet by nine seconds to become the first American man to win since 1983.

According to USA Today, Meb attended the Boston Marathon as a spectator last year and left the sidelines just five minutes before the bombs detonated.

Despite earning a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics and winning the New York Marathon in 2009, he was setback by injuries in recent years, which made him a real dark horse for today’s race. Remarkably, he is clearly stronger than ever… Just like the city where he was running.
