Madonna professes love for Lady Gaga

I think Madonna was genuinely miffed at Lady Gaga for a while for being a young superstar, copying some of her looks, and also one of her songs, but she’s over all that now. She’s grown past the frustration and jealousy, and is ready to work WITH Lady Gaga instead of against her. If you can’t beat ’em, right?

During last Saturday’s concert in Atlantic City, Madonna gushed about Lady Gaga, strongly professed her love, and promised they’ll be on stage together soon.

“You wanna know something? I love her. I love her. I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.”

“One day, very soon, we’re going to be on stage together. Just you wait. You think I’m kidding? I love Lady Gaga.”

She even dedicated her song “Masterpiece” to Gaga, a song she dedicated to another of her “enemies” Elton John last month.

She’s been reluctant to accept Lady Gaga for the past few years. She quipped about how cheaply down Gaga’s first tour was, and while she did an SNL skit with her early on, she seemed to keep her distance. Then “Born This Way” happened, and the gloves were off. Now the dust has settled, Gaga’s not going anywhere, and Madonna’s ready to join forces.

Or maybe she was just impressed with Gaga’s avant garde performance perfume launch.
