Although Lady Gaga’s 2011 Thanksgiving Special did okay, her Thanksgiving Special this year with The Muppets was, in the words of Waldorf and Statler, a “real turkey.”
Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Spectacular tanked in both the reviews and the ratings, pulling in 3.6 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49. For comparison, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving aired before Lady Gaga’s special and still pulled in 5.3 million. The real winner was a reairing of Ravens vs. Steelers on NBC, which pulled in 17.6 millions viewers and a 5.6 rating among adults 18-49.
We have a feeling that this this snafu won’t affect The Muppets’ new movie, which is due out in 2014.
