PHOTO Lady Gaga’s fake fingernail sells for $13,000 in auction
Lady Gaga just made one lucky crew member a very happy man. After she lost one of her fake fingernails during a performance in Dublin several months ago, the man found it and placed it up for auction. Now, he’s a whopping $13,000 richer!
“I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum,” the man explains. “When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail.”
A short time later, he listed the item on PFC Auctions and it’s buyer agreed to a payment of £8,500, which is equal to about $13,000.
The listing read, “A black acrylic finger nail featuring an intricate gold bead pattern that was personally worn by Lady Gaga during her ‘The Born This Way Ball’ tour at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 15th September 2012. The finger nail was recovered from the stage by a crew member after Lady Gaga finished her performance.”
Gaga first wore the Aya Fukada-designed nails to her fragrance launch in New York (see photo above) as part of her made-to-look-like-a-bottle costume in honor of the “Fame” fragrance.
This isn’t the first time an odd celebrity item has captured thousands online. Back in 2011, a box of Justin Bieber’s hair sold for $40,668 on eBay. The pop star had cut his hair during an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show and she auctioned it off for charity.
