Kristen Stewart: I can get any role with a snap of my fingers
Kristen Stewart and her Clouds of Sils Maria co-star Juliette Binoche cover the new German and Russian editions of Interview Magazine. For the accompanying story, they chatted with each other about their lives and careers. It was an interesting approach that likely made them a bit looser with their words than they would be with a reporter… Then again, that might not be such a good thing for Kristen.
“Everything I do, I do for myself. Blockbuster, art-house or Chanel commercial – it doesn’t matter. It could seem that after a successful movie I can allow myself anything,” Kristen said, as translated by KStew Art Fans. “And you know what? I can! It’s incredible: I can do anything I f**king want. Yes, I’m in this unconscionably privileged position. And I’m not ashamed.”
With some egging on from Juliette, Kristen continued…
“I never have to beg for a role, I can get any role with a snap of my fingers, and I don’t have to fight and struggle on my way up, like some other actors,” Kristen seemed to brag. “I imagine a huge map with lots of streets and roads, and the only thing I have to do – is choose, where do I want to stay. Every door is open for me.”
Should we take that to mean Kristen didn’t want roles during 2013, when she doesn’t have any credits to her name? She seems to be working pretty steadily these days, but it’s a bit ridiculous for Kristen to act like her cheating scandal and general Twilight backlash didn’t have any effect on what kinds of roles were available to her.
Bottom line: Until Kristen is steadily nominated for awards other than the Razzies, I don’t think it’s wise to brag…
