We have some disheartening news to report for those of you excited to see The Real Housewives of Atlanta super-duo NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak-Biermann reunite. Their reported road trip spin-off series Road to Riches has been canceled before it begun: Bravo confirms they “are not moving forward with the show.”
People spoke with “a source with knowledge of the situation” who tells them “The show is on hold indefinitely due to scheduling conflicts.”
Kim Zolciak is currently working on her show Don’t Be Tardy, and NeNe Leakes recently announced she is leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and will be co-hosting the resurrected game show To Tell the Truth on ABC.
The blonde-on-blonde reality TV version of Thelma and Louise was first announced back in March. “Atlanta’s ‘most driven’ housewives…drive out of their comfort zones and across the country to discover America on a one-of-a-kind adventure,” the network’s statement said of the show concept. “The road to LA may be paved with good intentions, but that doesn’t mean [the housewives] won’t occasionally drive each other crazy.”
Just because Kim and NeNe aren’t able to do the show is no reason to scrap the concept, right? Bravo could do multiple seasons of Road to Riches starring a different odd couple duo of Bravolebrities each year! Phaedra and Kandi, or Bethenny and Jeff Lewis–the possibilities are limitless. Ah heck, why not go all out and send Andy Cohen and pooch Wacha on a season-long road trip with Lisa Vanderpump and Giggy?
