VIDEO Kanye West likens himself to someone who’s at war while performing

It’s not so much that Kanye West sometimes says outrageous things that makes him so darn SMH quotable, it’s that he makes these self-proclamations with such belief, determination and conviction.

The latest “oh no he didn’t” Yeezus moment comes from an interview with SaturdayNightOnline in which he likened the dangers he faces on his current tour to those encountered by someone at war or a police officer:

When I think about when I’m on the ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing,’ and ‘Coldest Winter’ moment, like that mountain goes really, really high. And if I slipped… You never know. And I think about it. I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, or like war or something. Like you’re literally going out to do your job every day you know, knowing something can happen to you… verbally from the press bashing you, people not liking you anymore… you could actually slip on that stage.

Here’s the part of the interview featuring the quote:

Is it just me or did Kanye look like he was checking with someone during that side glance as if he knew the police/war remark was gonna make waves?

West went on to expand on the notion that he and future wife Kim Kardashian’s fight for artistic integrity and freedom will be the source of a conversation he will one day have with daughter North.
