Justin Bieber got smart during Florida deposition: What is this, 60 Minutes?
Justin Bieber likely hurt his case during a Thursday deposition. The meeting stemmed from a June 2013 incident in which a Miami Beach paparazzo accused Justin of ordering his bodyguard to attack.
“The guy proved today he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed,” an inside source told Gossip Extra, explaining Justin stormed out of the room at one point during the six-hour meeting. The source also accused Justin of falling asleep, claiming selective amnesia and talking back to lawyers during the proceedings.
Justin’s big temper tantrum was allegedly caused by was the plaintiff’s lawyer’s questions about Selena Gomez. Gossip Extra reports lawyer Mark Dicowden asked whether Selena was present during any of Justin’s run-ins with photographers.
“Do not ask me about her,” Justin reportedly screamed at the lawyer before leaving the room. His legal team talked him into returning 10 minutes later.
Sources say Justin was hardly cooperative during the deposition — even when the questions were relatively simple. In one case, a lawyer reportedly asked Justin whether he recently visited Australia last fall. He responded, “I don’t know if I ever was in Australia.” The following is a picture of him during a Perth concert in December 2013…
TMZ reports Justin was more defensive at other points, responding to lawyer at different points by saying “What is this, 60 Minutes?” and “OK, Katie Couric, what’s your question again?”
While he was still cooling down from questions about Selena, Justin reportedly responded to a question by saying “yeah.” The opposing lawyer asked him whether that meant yes. Justin fired back, “What the f**k is the difference between yeah and yes?!”
According to Gossip Extra, Justin also appeared drowsy during the long deposition.
“He denied being asleep,” a source close to the case said. “He said something about being frustrated with the questions and trying to focus.”
The deposition was videotaped and may become available under Florida’s open records law. Justin is next set to appear in court on March 11 for a status hearing on his DUI case.
