In a sad case of where are they now, former teen tennis sensation Jennifer Capriati has resurfaced but not in the way she would have hoped.  TMZ is reporting that Capriati, 34, was rushed to a hospital due to an apparent drug overdose.  TMZ spoke with her father, Stefano Capriati, and he stated that Jennifer was recovering well.

Capriati has had a tragic history with drug abuse after skyrocketing to the top of the tennis world as a young teenager.  In 1993, at the age of 18, while taking a break from competitive tennis she was busted for marijuana possession and shoplifting.  Many people were critical of her father, who became a poster-boy for the overbearing sports parent.

Capriati made a successful comeback after her self-imposed exile winning three majors and an Olympic gold medal, re-establishing her dominance on the court.  She played her last match in 2004.  In 2007 she admitted having suicidal thoughts in an interview with New York Daily News.

Here is a great old clip of Jennifer defeating Steffi Graf to win the Olympic gold in ’92:
