HERO Neighbor’s Chihuahua locates 2 lost girls in Georgia forest

I’m a dog guy, but even more so I’m a larger breed dog kind of fellow. Ankle biters annoy me, but thanks to my main little man, Bell, from Newnan, GA, my attitude has been adjusted.

On Monday, 2 girls ages 5 and 8, went for a walk with their own dog named Lucy who picked up a scent which lead them off into the woods by their home. After a while the girls’ dad realized they were not home or on the streets and began searching through the woods to no avail.

Police with search dogs and firefighters were soon combing these same woods but with no luck. An extremely tense two hours passed when neighbor Carvin Young let his little Chihuahua Bell go to work:

The girls were very familiar with Bell, who had good scents memory of them and found the obviously frightened but uninjured children. Here’s a photo of Carlie (who’s a cutie pie just like Bell) and Bell’s owner Mr. Young.

Carlie’s mom said, “I just think it’s amazing. I mean 2 hours is a long time. But you know it could have been another 2 hours and then it could have been dark and I don’t want to go there. That’s really scary.”

That thought is really scary but thanks to Bell and the reaction of their good neighbor Carvin this story had a happy ending.
