George Zimmerman has fled the Miami metro area after receiving a threat of a bounty on his head.

Zimmerman has been doing interviews for TV, including sit downs with Univision and Fusion last Tuesday, and then took his girlfriend, her kid and his brother to the beach for some down time.

Things weren’t relaxing for Zimmerman as a crowd gathered after noticing who he was, with some of the folks harassing him. During this interruption, someone shouted out at George that there was a $10,000 bounty on his head.

Sources with TMZ stated that Zimmerman took that last threat seriously as the entire group made their way back to the confines of their hotel room. Security did a sweep of the room – which was clean and then stood guard over the room for the remainder of the day and throughout the evening time.

Early on Wednesday, Zimmerman taped his already somewhat controversial CNN interview and booked it out of town directly after – for all intent and purpose fleeing the city.

There’s already a history in regards to threats on Zimmerman involving monetary rewards from groups for what they perceive as justice. Take for example the following Black Panther video in which a leader suggests they’re putting together a $1 million bounty for the capture of George Zimmerman:
