Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman is once again behind bars today after he was arrested in Apopka Florida this afternoon stemming from a reported domestic dispute with his girlfriend. The Seminole County Sheriff’s office confirmed Zimmerman was arrested at approximately 1:00PM after deputies responded to a disturbance on Topfield Court in Apopka.
“Zimmerman will be transported and booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement released moments ago. Sheriff’s officials also added that the arrest report and 911 call will be released as soon as they are available.
Though the identity of the “girlfriend” involved in the alleged domestic dispute has not been officially released, it is believed to be Samantha Scheibe, 27, who was seen with Zimmerman when he got involved in a heated exchange with his estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman back in September. Here’s a photo of Samantha Scheibe:
UPDATE – According to TMZ, law enforcement sources have since revealed that Zimmerman did allegedly get physical with his girlfriend earlier today and also that she is claiming to be pregnant! Because of the pregnancy, the assault is an automatic felony with Zimmerman not being eligible for bail.
UPDATE – This story just gets crazier and crazier! The Seminole County Sheriff has stated that the woman was not actually pregnant, but TMZ is reporting that she may have told the 911 operator that she was. Also, “The victim indicated she and George Zimmerman were having a verbal dispute, and at that time, she alleged that he had broken a table, and at one point, pointed a long-barrel shotgun at her,” said Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said Monday during a news conference in Sanford. “He actually pushed her out of the front of the residence and barricaded the door with furniture.”
Zimmerman was charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief. He has reportedly been placed in solitary for his own protection and is being checked in on every sixty minutes.
